Magnesium Is A Fundamental Part Of Your Diet: Are You Sure You Are Getting Enough Of It?

Magnesium helps in the regulation of our body temperature, produces energy and rids us of the toxins. Usually lots of us don’t get enough magnesium. The required amount is 300- 400 mg. per day. Some of the symptoms of lacking in magnesium are stress, constipation, poor quality sleep, headaches, migraines and muscle spasms.

I take this everyday for relief from leg cramps and it works most of the time.

Isaiah 30:15  "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength..."  The study writer touched a nerve with me today.  "Lack of confidence is no respecter of persons.  It can strike because of how we perceive our appearance, go through illness......"  That is currently my issue.  I can't handle being perceived as "ill".  This has been a difficult year with lung cancer surgery and then a month later a respiratory flu.  I don't want to be seen as a "sickee" and keep reassuring everyone that I am fine.  I am working on trusting in God to see me through this, He always does, but my self confidence has taken a hit.  I need more quiet time and should turn off the TV to reduce the noise.  If you are dealing with a setback of one sort or another, remember to take time with God to be restored and comforted.  "in quietness and trust is your strength.."

2000  I called Waynette, Barb and Kathy to check who was meeting for dinner the next night.  This same group plus others are going out tomorrow night also.  More importantly, Nicole had honor night at the High School and received an Academic/Athlete award.  I was/am so proud of her and who she is.  We always want our kids to achieve higher standards than we did - and she has!  Still proud.  Stay involved in your kids school and let them know it is important to you and them that they do well at school and with others.  Life is better for those kids.

1602 - Cape Cod was discovered by Bartholomew Gosnold. Now there is a name I have never heard.  But I have visited Cape Cod, Waynette.  Go there this summer!  Beautiful and great sea food!  I wonder why they didn't call it Cape Gosnold?

Busan Shopping

Shopping and commerce[edit]

Commercial areas are dispersed throughout the city near busy intersections and adjacent to university campuses, but the two largest central business districts in Busan are Seomyeon and Gwangbok-dong/Nampo-dong. There are also four substantial shopping areas of note: Seomyeon, Gwangbok-dong, Busan Dae Hakap in Jangjeon-dong, and Centum City in Haeundae-gu.

Wow!  Let's do this today!  SHOP!

John 14: 1-14  Pastor Beebe spoke of the home God has prepared for us in heaven.  Jesus told his disciples on Maundy Thursday about this and they asked how would they know how to find this home and Jesus replied "I am the way and truth and life...."  If you want to find your home with God you need to follow Jesus, he can point you in the right direction! Thank God for those Mom's that led us to the Way.

1999  This was actually the first year I stated tracking my exercise.  Like most people I had been sporadic, a gym membership or a class here and there but this year I got a chart that I keep track of what I do and now how many steps everyday.  On this day in May, I noticed I hadn't been working out the last two weeks or so and then looking after this day where I mentioned my back was going out - I started back doing yoga, mostly, and hardly missed a day for a month.  And my back got better.  So I'm thinking this was a day of reawakening in how much the exercise helped - just sayin!

1999 - Jess Marlow received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Myron Jess Marlow (November 29, 1929 – August 3, 2014) was a Los Angeles television newsman.  I didn't know either.

Religion in South Korea is characterized by the fact that an absolute majority of South Koreans (56.9% as of 2015) have no formal membership in a religious organisation; among those that are members of a religious organisation, there is a dominance of ProtestantismBuddhism, and Roman Catholicism. According to the national census conducted in 2015, 19.7% of the population belongs to Protestantism, 15.5% to Buddhism (Korean Buddhism), and 7.9% to the Roman Catholic Church; in total Christianity is the religion of 27.6% of the Korean population. Buddhism was influential in ancient times, and while Christianity persuaded large segments of the population already in the 18th and 19th century, yet they grew rapidly in membership only by the mid-20th century, as part of the profound transformations that South Korean society has gone through in the past century,[1] and then have shown some decline from the 2000s onwards. Native shamanic religions (i.e. Sindo) remain popular and could represent a large part of the unaffiliated. Indeed, according to a 2012 survey, only 15% of the population declared to be not religious in the sense of "atheism".[2]
I didn't know and am surprised, I would have guessed Buddhism I think.

After going to my massage therapist yesterday I was reminded of the sheet of exercises she gave me a few years ago.  They are part of my regular routine and because they are a sheet of paper with 12 exercises I can pack them if I go away for a few days.  They are stretching and strengthening and best of all they really work.  Abdominal Corset, Gravity Drop, Alternating overhead press, Warrior 11, Butt-Wall squat, Plank, Backstroke, STEMs, Sidelying Thoracic Rotation, Downward Dog, Triangle, Revolving Triangle.  Look them up!  You won't be sorry!

Psalm 73:28  "It is good to be near God.  I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge."  Where is your safe place or what is comforting to you?  When I was a child (6 to 8) I loved to take the rowboat out and lay on the bow of the boat and stare into the water. I could see the little silver minnows in the weeds and the long legged bugs floating on top - oh and I sucked my thumb.  Now I picture myself laying with my head on the Lord's feet and fall asleep in a second.  It is good to be near God.

1995 -  Spring means softball.  Nicole was 10 and I was the assistant coach for her team.  Saturday mornings were always practice.  I would love to be heading to a diamond and watching those girls hitting the balls and running the bases.  It was a good thing to spend time on this day as my cousin had ripped out my entire kitchen for remodeling.  Ty came over and picked up my dishwasher that was still in perfect working order, I can't imagine him putting it in his house though?  Norma?

1607 - An expedition led by Captain Christopher Newport arrived at Jamestown, Virginia. The passengers went ashore the next day and this site became the first permanent settlement English colony in America. what happened to all those pilgrims from 1492?  Better read my history.

Pilates.  Cat was outside and I was motivated!  Did most of this session, more than I have done before.  It is a long workout that begins with breathing correctly, physical positioning, warm up and foot exercises.  Many times that is all I do, but today I went through 15 of the actual Pilate moves.  Later I get a massage, a gift for my birthday that was in February.  Good for me!  Hope you make yourself happy today!!

Isaiah 58:11 "And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."  What a great reading for this beautiful spring day, to consider us like a garden that is well tended by God. The study writer sees being a Mom in this reading and added this prayer.  "Thank You for understanding.  Thank You for replacing my stress with confidence and a joyful heart."  She relates to a Mom that feels she is not doing a good job of managing all of her chores.  We have a tendency to underrate our abilities until someone else in the same shoes says - me  too!  Today was the day I was supposed to become a Mom 32 years ago, but she was late.  Happy upcoming Mothers day.  You are doing fine!

1990  Nicole and I were in Florida at the condo with Grandma Luvy.  "Ma, Nick, Laurie, Zack and I went to the Stuart beach.  We had a picnic and looked for shells.  (film available)  Ma, Nicole and I went to McDonald's for dinner and then shopping at JC Penny."  Nicole was five and if  you asked a five year old where they wanted to go for dinner - well, McDonald's.  After a while you learned not to ask.  It is a great memory of that day.  Just watched the video!  Bath tub reef.

Economy[edit]

Hanjin Heavy Industries
Busan is an international business and financial center and renowned for its machinery, steel, ship building and marine industries, fashion, tourism and trade fairs. Busan is the fifth busiest seaport in the world,[3] with transportation and shipping among the most high-profile aspects of the local economy. Since 1978, Busan has opened three container ports including Jaseungdae, Shinsundae, and Gamman. Busan has one of the world's largest ports and can handle up to 13.2 million TEU shipping containers per year.
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, one of two such administrations in Korea, was created to reassert Busan's status as a traditional international trading centre. The port attracts ships from all over the globe and the surrounding area aspires to become a regional financial centre.
Korea Exchange (KRX), Korea's sole securities exchange operator, is headquartered in Busan. Pray that this area stays successful as it is. And intact.

2 Timothy 1:12  "...For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what (and whom) I have committed to Him until that day."  The study writer says to think about this when you are praying for a loved one to turn their life around and come back to the Lord.  Who doesn't do that?  She also says that God can enter that person in ways that we can't so we should trust that when we pray God can reach where we can't.  Good to remember when you feel like you aren't getting anywhere - ask God to go ahead.

1989  Someday's are not great memories.  My husband was in jail, picked up on a DUI.  I went to court thinking "this could happen to any of us" because we were all partiers.  When I got there I found out that after Macomb County finished with him he would go to Royal Oak and Oakland County on unpaid charges for the same thing.  After leaving the jail, depressed, I needed to talk with someone who I could tell that would not be judgemental or forever look at Mark in "that way".  I went over to my cousin Kay's and she was fortunately home.  I cried and poured out all the sordid details and she was just what I needed.  I went home composed to my kids.  Take care of your responsibilities if this happens to you or someone you know - it can get worse if you don't.

1573 - Henry of Anjou became the first elected king of Poland. My Grandmother was born in Poland so this is relevant to me.  I will try to remember Henry (my grandfathers name) as a Polish pear.

Busan's names include Pusan-gwangyŏksi (approved),[8] Pusan,[9] Fusan,[10] Fuzan-fu,[11] Husan,[12] Husan Hu,[13] Pusan-chikhalsi,[14] Pusan-jikhalsi,[15] Pusan-pu[16] and Pusan-si.[17]
The city was originally called Busanpo. It was named after the shape of the mountain behind Busan Port. Korean bu (hangul: 부, hanja) means a cauldronsan (hangul: 산, hanja: ) means a mountain, and po (hangul: 포, hanja: ) means a harbor. It may be said that a harbor is located at the foot of a mountain resembling a cauldron. Since the late 15th century, the current name Busan (hangul: 부산, hanja: 釜山) has been widely used.[18]    If you look at the Panarama from yesterday you can see the cauldron.

Colossians 1:18  "He is the Head of the body made up of his people ... that is, his church.... which He began; and He is the Leader...."  The Lutheran church, here in Michigan re elected Bishop Kriess to lead our Synod.  There is a National Bishop - Elizabeth Eaton, who also leads our churches.  The Pope in Europe leads the Roman Catholic churches of the world.  We have leaders but they do too.  The leader over all of this is God himself, our Triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  WE are the body of the church.  Organized religion is too important to believe that you can worship from afar.  You need the communal strength and teaching of the church to be a better Christian.  If you want to be better at something and know it well, you have to practice.  Find your church home.

1986  Went to Aaron's T-ball game, he was 8.  He loved the game and tried so hard.  I asked him the other day if his kids had started up sports and he said they had.  He said that Matthew is playing baseball and is a much better player than he was, he can hit the ball.  Watching your child play well at something is actually more rewarding than playing well yourself.  Aaron's strength was academic.  What are your children's strengths?  Do you sit through rain storms in garbage bags watching them play soccer?

Proverbs 14:21 "He who has mercy on the poor, happy is he."  We all know how good it makes us feel to help with a mission project, fund raising to feed the poor and even bringing in food for the food closet.  In Toronto, Chris, Helen and I had gone shopping on  Bloor Street and stopped for lunch.  I had seen some street people sitting on the sidewalk with a cup for a donation and even a dog, playing music so when we left with our carry outs from huge lunches I made sure mine was not part of a half eaten sandwich, but wrapped and untouched.  The first one I passed took the bag gratefully and shared a bite with his dog.  The wagging tail was thanks enough.  If you want to be happy, give - it is better than any gift you can get.

1985   I was a lady in waiting.  Nicole was due on May 12 and I had started having contractions or something.  The doctor had me take leave from work a week ago and said to stay off of my swollen ankles.  I didn't.  I was nesting  - cleaning house, refolding baby clothes and answering the phone.  Norma and Betty called me everyday.  My old boyfriend Pete called most days. ?  Mark, the expectant father barbecued chicken and cooked for me.  Waiting was the right term. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The Latest on South Korea's presidential election (all times local):
10:45 p.m.
Two major challengers for South Korean president, a conservative and a centrist, conceded defeat Tuesday, paving the way for liberal Moon Jae-in to claim victory in an election that followed months of political turmoil caused by ousted President Park Geun-hye's corruption scandal.
The concessions by conservative Hong Joon-pyo and centrist Ahn Cheol-soo followed exit polls that earlier forecast that Moon would win, ending a decade of conservative rule in South Korea and setting up a sharp departure from recent policy toward nuclear-armed North Korea.
The exit poll of about 89,000 voters at 330 polling stations, jointly commissioned by three major television stations and released just after polls closed, showed Moon receiving 41.4 percent of the vote.  Here is todays current news that will make history.  Let's hope this works well for the current situation in both Korea's.
