Psalm 34:8 "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man (or woman) who trusts in Him!." Try it! Did your Mom or Dad tell you when you were a kid - "just try it, you might like it"? Well I'm pretty sure you will like the results of trying God. His goodness and mercy, the joy and comfort of being with Him is too good a treat to pass up. God is so good!

2011 Oh a sweet memory of a great vacation. Don and I drove his truck down to Florida. We stayed with family and friends, on this day we were at my cousin Kathy's place in Palm Beach. We stopped at a place that had bathing suits, mine was so old and I bought a new one, that was the last time I bought a swimsuit. (Might be time for another). Then we went to the beach. Oh, how I wish I was there now - I'm sure Don does too. We are getting freezing rain and possible snow here today. We went to a place called Miller's Alehouse for lobster (whole) and then went to the Tiki bar on the inter coastal. Like I said, I so wish I were there! How about you Don?
1775 - The first abolitionist society in U.S. was organized in Philadelphia with Ben Franklin as president.
The Society for the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage, the first American society dedicated to the cause of abolition, is founded in Philadelphia on this day in 1775. The society changes its name to the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery and the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage in 1784. Good ole Ben!!!

So by sheer luck I caught a program on TV this morning that was all about our location. It showed wonderful video of the city of Kopca? The limestone streets and buildings and the terraced growing fields edged in limestone was beautiful. Their history is a little shady though I am seeing. If you can check out a video to see the beautiful country side you will see why they go to war over it.
Enjoy the day! Make it memorable! Happy Birthday to Nancy W.

Started my week with yoga. I need more yoga and meditating, that will be my next drive.
1 Samuel 23:1-5 this is not a well known story, but it is about one of the many, many times that David prayed to God. Did David ever say, "it's not that important, I don't need God's help", or "I won't bother God with this He has more important things to think about". I don't know, but maybe he did, I know I do. David did pray here and God delivered victory into his hands. Don't forget to pray even to remembering to stop and pick up that prescription or whatever on the way home. God likes to hear from you.
On this day;
1987 This isn't big news but I started thinking about this. My husband Mark bought us a new television. How many TV's have you bought over the years? Who's decision was it to buy a new one? I kept TV's until they just died, then I reluctantly went out and bought another. It is different with guys (mostly). They have to have the biggest flat screen that the furniture or wall will hold. Am I right? Who made the decision to buy your last TV and how big is it? Does it have anything to do with the quality of the programing? Don't start an argument over it, please.
1999 - Jack Kervorkian was sentenced in Pontiac, MI, to 10 to 25 years in prison for the second-degree murder of Thomas Youk. Youk's assisted suicide was videotaped and shown on "60 Minutes" in 1998. This is the reason I'm not excited about TV

I always cry at weddings and baptisms. Our Sunday School Director had her little girl Zeralda baptized yesterday. The Pastor looked like he was just going to keep holding her through the rest of the service. She was absolutely angelic. Those of us that practice faith are moved by the importance and intensity of baptism. I weep too for the lack of interest people show for this important sacrament of the church.

Especially, when we moved to Maceday Lake out in Pontiac, I remembered again. Maybe I was six years old when Mom and Dad left me for a sleep over at Randy’s house. He had twin beds in his room and his mom let us have graham crackers and milk in bed before we went to sleep. I layed down and discovered I had a bed full of cracker crumbs. Randy and I laughed. He had a soft brown teddy bear that he slept with and I had a doll named Buster. My mom had bought it for my brother Donny, but they wouldn’t let him have it at the hospital where he stayed. Mom told me to take care of it for him and I did. Randy and I played with our toys and finally fell asleep.

#What is joint pain?
Joint inflammation is an irritation of the joints. It can influence one joint or various joints. There are in excess of 100 distinct sorts of joint pain, with various causes and treatment strategies. Two of the most widely recognized composes are osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid joint pain (RA).
http://entertainmentfun4u.com/2018/04/12/causes-of-arthritis/ Look for results to your doctor and what ever resources you can find. This looks interesting. My doctor has given me a shot every few months that has helped mine tremendously. Look to natural cures whenever you can.

My Thursday morning Bible Study is exceptional. We are doing a short study of Exodus to finish the Spring semester. Short but intense, this is a big game changer in history. Today what interested me was this Exodus 3:14 "God said to Moses, I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelite's: I AM has sent me to you." We have assigned many names to our God, I AM being one of them. Pastor explained that our God is way too immense, too omnipresent, too everything, to have "A" name. I like the name given to Him by a lady I knew from church a while back. She said His name is Andy - you know from the hymn "Andy walks with me Andy talks with me and He tells me I am his own." Whatever you refer to Him as - call on Him often, he misses you.

2010 A friend of mine from my travelers group asked me if I would look in and help her mom out once in a while. Of course I said yes, and so I met Josephine. A wonderful woman, my moms age who liked to get her hair done and go out to lunch occasionally. It was a great friendship until my mom had some health issues that needed my attention. I really enjoyed Josephine's company, she could talk on many subjects and was a no nonsense lady that had led a full life raising her family of very bright children. I hope there is a National Coney Island in heaven - she loved a good coney.

Montenegro within Socialist Yugoslavia[edit]
Main article: Socialist Republic of Montenegro
Montenegro, like the rest of Yugoslavia, was liberated by the Yugoslav Partisans in 1944.
Montenegro became one of the six constituent republics of the communist Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY). Its capital became Podgorica, renamed Titograd in honour of President Josip Broz Tito. After the war, the infrastructure of Yugoslavia was rebuilt, industrialization began, and the University of Montenegro was established. Greater autonomy was established until the Socialist Republic of Montenegro ratified a new constitution in 1974.[citation needed]

It was an aha moment. I did 45 minutes of Pilates this morning, reaching further than I have in a long time. I am still able to do the exercises in full, not resorting to the lesser strenuous positions so I'm feeling good about that. I have just gotten lazy, I blame the long winter. Surprise yourself and go a little further today - push yourself! You can do it!

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it." One day at a time if you (like me) are going through a tough spell. I think the trying times bring you to better results in what you need to do. Do what you can and know that the Lord is with us - to help us get by the problems, find answers and support us to the end. Rejoice in everyday but start with this one.

2009 Was the Saturday before Easter and I was making all the necessary preparations. I make jello eggs every year. I love them - a chunk of egg shaped jello you can hold in your hand and bite, the kids always loved them. This year I was taking them to Kristin's Aunts house but came down with a cold and stayed home - but the 60 jello eggs went, minus the few I saved for myself. We also dyed eggs this day and I made baskets for everyone including my neighbors. Mom felt bad I worked so hard and after a trip to Dressbarn she bought pizza for our dinner. I miss my mom.
1689 - William III and Mary II were crowned as joint sovereigns of Britain. Didn't know this could be.

Fighters who remained under arms fractured into two groups. Most of them went on to join the Yugoslav Partisans, consisting of communists and those inclined towards active resistance; these included Arso Jovanović, Sava Kovačević, Svetozar Vukmanović-Tempo, Milovan Đilas, Peko Dapčević, Vlado Dapčević, Veljko Vlahović, and Blažo Jovanović. Those loyal to the Karađorđević dynasty and opposing communism went on to become Chetniks, and turned to collaboration with Italians against the Partisans.
War broke out between Partisans and Chetniks during the first half of 1942. Pressured by Italians and Chetniks, the core of the Montenegrin Partisans went to Serbia and Bosnia, where they joined with other Yugoslav Partisans. Fighting between Partisans and Chetniks continued through the war. Chetniks with Italian backing controlled most of the country from mid-1942 to April 1943. Montenegrin Chetniks received the status of "anti-communist militia" and received weapons, ammunition, food rations, and money from Italy. Most of them were moved to Mostar, where they fought in the Battle of Neretva against the Partisans, but were dealt a heavy defeat.
During the German operation Schwartz against the Partisans in May and June 1943, Germans disarmed large number of Chetniks without fighting, as they feared they would turn against them in case of an Allied invasion of the Balkans. After the capitulation of Italy in September 1943, Partisans managed to take hold of most of Montenegro for a brief time, but Montenegro was soon occupied by German forces, and fierce fighting continued during late 1943 and entire 1944. Montenegro was liberated by the Partisans in December 1944. This compared to what I see on most countries is fairly recent history. I feel like that part of our earth is in constant turmoil.

Hebrews 13:5 "(Jesus said.) "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." This is a good verse for me to take today. One of my old bosses old buddy and I have kept in touch - I should have known when I didn't hear from him in a couple weeks. He is 87 and I saw a post from his family last night that he is in hospice. I replied that it must have been sudden and asked where he is. I'm taking a beer over to the hospital to have a last one with him. I will remind him of the above verse, he will expect it of me. They said he isn't too responsive, but that's ok, he will know I'm there. (Before I finished this I got word from the family that he passed quietly this morning. I will still have the beer for him.)

2008 was a Thursday and a regular day, work - home dinner with Mom. I packed up, it said. I was going out to Marine City to care for another of my bosses buddies - Bob, who was blind from macular degeneration and had liver cancer. The last day I went to see him he was comatose but I washed his face and shaved him, sat on the bed with his cat, dog and grandchildren on top of him and we played games. I read him his Catholic missive and prayed with him and listened to his Irish music. Before I left I said goodbye and assured him his wife was waiting for him. He passed a half hour after I left. Sometimes we just need closure.

World War II[edit]
Main article: Italian governorate of Montenegro
In April 1941, Nazi Germany, the Kingdom of Italy, and other Axis allies attacked and occupied the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Italian forces occupied Montenegro and established it as a puppet Kingdom of Montenegro.
In May, the Montenegrin branch of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia started preparations for an uprising planned for mid-July. The Communist Party and its Youth League organised 6,000 of its members into detachments prepared for guerrilla warfare. The first armed uprising in Nazi-occupied Europe happened on 13 July 1941 in Montenegro.[18]
Unexpectedly, the uprising took hold, and by 20 July, 32,000 men and women had joined the fight. Except for the coast and major towns (Podgorica, Cetinje, Pljevlja, and Nikšić), which were besieged, Montenegro was mostly liberated. In a month of fighting, the Italian army suffered 5,000 dead, wounded, and captured. The uprising lasted until mid-August, when it was suppressed by a counter-offensive of 67,000 Italian troops brought in from Albania. Faced with new and overwhelming Italian forces, many of the fighters laid down their arms and returned home. Nevertheless, intense guerrilla fighting lasted until December.
Did you know this? Look at the ships Yugoslavia had! This just prior to my birth. I need to study history! Montenegro indeed.

Psalm 40:5 "Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you." Do you have an idea of what God has planned for you? Maybe a new job or a new friend? Are you aware of things He has organized for you in the past? We like to think that we are totally in control of our lives and what happens to us - or, we hold others responsible for our problems, and quite often blame God. I believe in free will, that God lets us live our lives and make our own decisions on our lives, but I also believe He get involved - to help or to derail you from the wrong path. Start thinking about the wonders He has done first.

The adults would end up in the kitchen preparing the food while the youth would play cards or games and talk with the people we were serving. God blesses our service, I saw it in their faces.
2007 - The iTunes Music Store reached 2.5 billion songs sold. Can you imagine now?

Kingdom of Yugoslavia[edit]
Main article: Kingdom of Yugoslavia
In 1922, Montenegro formally became the Oblast of Cetinje in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, with the addition of the coastal areas around Budva and Bay of Kotor. In a further restructuring in 1929, it became a part of a larger Zeta Banate of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia that reached the Neretva River.
Nicholas's grandson, the Serb King Alexander I, dominated the Yugoslav government. Zeta Banovina was one of nine banovinas which formed the kingdom; it consisted of the present-day Montenegro and parts of Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia. I had a friend Ljubo that was very upset by these politics - he was Yougoslavian. I see why.

2 Timothy 4:22 "The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, Grace be with you. Amen." Jesus blew into his disciples to give them the Holy Spirit. If it seems confusing that our Triune God is The Father, Son and Holy Spirit - one but all separate, we are incapable of figuring it out. You just must let the breathe of Christ enter you and accept that you are part of the kingdom. God's grace is an amazing gift of this life in God's kingdom. Loved and kept by our God.

Kingdom of Montenegro (1910–1918)[edit]
Main article: Kingdom of Montenegro

King Nicholas I with his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren and sons- and daughters-in-law

Cover of the Italian weekly La Tribuna Illustrata from 1919, titled "Fighting near Podgoricabetween Montenegrin army and Serbian rebels"
In 1910, Montenegro became a kingdom, and as a result of the Balkan wars in 1912 and 1913 (in which the Ottomans lost all Balkan land), a common border with Serbia was established, with Shkodër being awarded to a newly created Albania, though the current capital city of Montenegro, Podgorica, was the old border of Albania and Yugoslavia.
Montenegro was among the Allied Powers during World War I (1914–18). From 1916 to October 1918, Montenegro was occupied by Austria-Hungary. During the occupation, King Nicholas fled the country and a government-in-exile was set up in Bordeaux.
Current "old" history.
