Get Fit
I was just reading an article on the benefits of eating dried apricots.  I always like these as a snack but never realized the benefits.  They are a good source of Vitamin A and C, iron and magnesium.  They offer protection against cancer and support the bones, heart nerves and blood!  Might want to think about this for an afternoon snack!

Get Faith
Psalm 127:7  "The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life."  This is the second time today I have read about God and near misses.  In one case it said that God choose to have disaster miss so that His plan did not change for that person.  In the second case a couple had two rapid near misses and thanked God.  They also suggest that often we don't know what we miss. God can be everywhere all the time.  If He has a plan for you I am pretty sure He will clear the path for you to make that plan happen.  Keep your eyes open for the opportunity!  God provides.

On this day
2002 - Nicole and I organized and dragged a few others through an 80th Birthday Party for Mom.  Her birthday was in January but we decided this date would work better, I guess.  We rented a small community room at my friends condo center.  It was a room for 75.  I invited 70 or so people and we had close to 100.  I celebrated each decade of her life with photos on Tv, music and food of the times.  Nicole and I had a lot of fun doing it, but it was so much work for Andy and Alice and Nicole's group of friends that I hired to wait the jam packed tables and serve food for each decade.  It was great, Mom loved it but I haven't had any calls to be a party planner.  ??

1825 - The U.S. House of Representatives elected John Quincy Adams president. No candidate had received a majority of electoral votes  Interesting.

Ystad Sweden

History[edit]

Street plan of Ystad in c.1850.
After the time of Absalon, Bishop of Roskilde and Archbishop of Lund, peace was brought to the area in the 11th century, fishing families settled at the mouth of the river Vassa as herring fishing became the main source of trade. Ystad was not mentioned in documents until 1244, in a record of King Eric's visit to the town with his brother, Abel. A Franciscan monasteryGråbrödraklostret, was founded in 1267, and Ystad joined the Hanseatic League in the 14th century.
The charter of 1599 gave the town the right to export oxen. Ystad, together with all of Scania, was transferred from Denmark to Sweden following the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658.[3][4]
By 1866 Ystad had a railway connection and it was established as a garrison town in the 1890s. After World War IIferry services to Poland and to the Danish island of Bornholm were opened.

Demographics[edit]

In 1658, Ystad's population was about 1,600 and, by 1850 it had reached 5,000. The increased importance brought by the railway and the garrison in the 1890s drove the population above 10,000.[4]   I love herring!

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy 3 Months old Hudson!
