Hebrews chapter 4 - Of course the book of Hebrews would revisit the old testament laws. Jk, we are reminded often of "don't do those things". This one speaks of remembering the Sabbath. It IS the 3rd commandment, and a duty to God. Rest from your labors. I have a problem with this. I start off well and then go downhill. On the way home from church (where I have already labored at putting up a Christmas tree) to hearing that the temp will be in the 60's and then dropping down again. Perfect day to give the yard a possible final clean up, and because tomorrow is garbage pickup. See how that works? Makes perfect sense to get it done. This reading does allude to the fact that any day can be that day of rest.... but today is laundry day.
On this day;
1978 A few of us girlfriends went over to Pam's house and drank wine and made Christmas tree ornaments. I still have some that I put on my tree. It was a great way to start the season and share with friends. You have time, you could still plan a night like this with friends, maybe a light dinner to start. Have fun - follow the star to Bethlehem this month!
1835 - Hans Christian Andersen published his first book of fairy tales. Before books become extinct, this might be a great Christmas present!
Parenting - I have failed as a parent. I never taught my daughter how to forage in the refrigerator for food, how to look behind items or take lids off, or open drawers or use utensils to pull out the white meat from the bottom of the bag. I'm sorry.
Travelers! We have moved to Gwalior India. (Mostly because I want to go back to the Indian food place on Rochester Road)
