Get Faith
Ecclesiastes 3:4 "a time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance." Everyday gives us a new opportunity to do any of the above. I look at all of those behaviors as healing processes. God is with you in all circumstances to comfort and enjoy, he loves you - make Him part of your life.
On this day
2001 This weekend for a lot of years was the soccer tournament at Nicole's high school. Teams came over for 2 full days Saturday and Sunday of soccer. I was involved with the Mom and Dad's club and we opened the concession stand and worked it all weekend. I might have been the head of it because I don't recall going home. Nicole even brought me food so I didn't have to eat hot dogs all weekend. It was a great community of parents that worked together and one of the dads even brought in a cooler with beer at the end of the day - boy that tasted good.
1859 - A hot air balloon was used to carry mail for the first time. John Wise left Lafayette, IN, for New York City with 100 letters. He had to land after only 27 miles. so much for this air mail.
Parenting/community
Watching the morning show today and they talked about what gives the best feedback for peace and happiness in your life. Community with others - school, sports, friendships were all up there but the most life improvement and daily support came from belief in a religion. I love hearing that. Share that with your kids! Expose them to Faith. Your choice which one.

I missed my daddy. I thought that if he had stayed I would have
been a different girl. Daddy surely would have put his foot down about me
being out so much. He would not have
liked the way I looked with lipstick and ratted up hair and tight pants. Would he have made Mom take me to the beauty
shop and get a regular young lady hairdo, would he make me go to the store and
buy pretty dresses and cute little pump shoes to wear? Would I have done it because Daddy wanted me
to? I always thought so, then.

Music in Amsterdam
The Dutch are great music lovers. In older times, before the era of Internet and television, hundreds of thousands of Dutch people would every week meet and sing in local choirs. Globalization and new media changed the lifestyles of people in the Netherlands as in any other country, but the Dutch could not live without music. It is not by accident, that Dutch electronic giant Philips (together with Sony) developed a musical CD and a digital way of recording music. Nevertheless, as everywhere else, the live music concerts are what music enthusiasts in Holland value most.
