Get Faith
Acts chapter 27  "The soldier's plan was to kill the prisoners, so that none might swim away and escape; but the centurion, wishing to save Paul, kept them from carrying out their plan."  Paul, as a prisoner, on his way to Rome faced great danger.  God still needed Paul to finish his work and as he did in many stories in the Bible - saved Paul from impending doom.  We all have storms in our lives and often forget to call on God to help us through.  He is our best help.

On this day
1986  Pat came over to babysit Nicole while Mark, Marty and I went to the marina and out on Bill Millers boat.  We went over to Ford's Cove for Duane and Linda's wedding - on the boat.  We had a few friends get married out on the lake, some even had a band playing on one boat.  After the ceremony we went to Annie's house to try out her new Jacuzzi and then over to the Lido for the reception.  I think this was the second wedding and not the last I went to for Duane.  Makes for a good party.

1986 - Dan Marino of the Miami Dolphins threw his 100th career touchdown pass, in only his 44th NFL game, which set a NFL record.

1986 - President Augusto Pinochet survived an assassination attempt made by guerrillas.

1986 - Desmond Tutu was the first black to be installed to lead the Anglican Church in southern Africa.
Wow  lots going on this day!

Gambell Alaska
Alaska (/əˈlæskə/ (About this soundlisten)AleutAlax̂sxax̂InupiaqAlaasikaqAlutiiqAlas'kaaq; TlingitAnáaski; RussianАляскаromanizedAlyaska) is a U.S. state in the northwest extremity of the United States West Coast, just across the Bering Strait from Asia. The Canadian province of British Columbia and territory of Yukon border the state to the east and southeast. Its most extreme western part is Attu Island, and it has a maritime border with Russia (Chukotka Autonomous Okrug) to the west across the Bering Strait. To the north are the Chukchi and Beaufortseas—southern parts of the Arctic Ocean. The Pacific Ocean lies to the south and southwest. It is the largest U.S. state by area and the seventh largest subnational division in the world. In addition, it is the 3rd least populous and the most sparsely populated of the 50 United States; nevertheless, it is by far the most populous territory located mostly north of the 60th parallel in North America: its population—estimated at 738,432 by the United States Census Bureau in 2015[4]— is more than quadruple the combined populations of Northern Canada and Greenland. Approximately half of Alaska's residents live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska's economy is dominated by the fishingnatural gas, and oil industries, resources which it has in abundance. United States armed forces bases and tourism are also a significant part of the economy.
Not much more available on Gambell, so lets' look at Alaska in general.

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!
