Gospel of John chapter 14 - Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you. This is a very uplifting read. It reminds us that God sent Jesus to earth, to intercede for us. If you know the son - you know the father and vice versa. God knows you and wants you to know him, and has prepared a place for you.
On this day:
1998 - We were a little short on help. Me and the one arm neighbor (he had a broken arm) loaded the large Ryder truck with Ma and Dad's belongings from their home here in the shores, including a 300 lb safe from the basement, and an Italian scooter. Dad was under doctors care, having just had a heart problem and Ma was so sad leaving her home. Jim (the neighbor) and I somehow loaded the entire truck and hitched up a trailer with the jeep on it, behind the truck. We were still laughing by the end of the day, well Jim and I were. The kids and I drove them to Florida to their condo the next day. I'm glad the kids went for distraction.
1998 - George and Ira Gershwin received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That was their excuse, where were you?
Parenting - Aaron and Nicole took time from school to go down to Florida and help keep Grandma and Grandpa's spirits up. Aaron and Grandpa were in the Ryder truck and I followed in the Lincoln with Grandma and Nicole. It took us a full two days, with just one overnight stay. I'm glad the kids had that time with them.
Book club - So Theodore thought himself a cowboy........ Mornings on Horseback.
