Get Faith
Galatians chapter 2  "And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law...."  You only need to believe that the promise of salvation that we have in Jesus Christ is what saves us, that his death on the cross washed away all of our sins - forever.  Your responsibility is to show your appreciation of this gift, acknowledge the great gift you have been given by our Father God by living a life that expresses that love.  But just know, you only have to ask forgiveness in Christ's sake to be forgiven.  What a great God we have, amen?

On this day
2009  After work my cousin Kathy picked me up and then we went to my Aunt Annie's house to pick up Kay.  She stayed with her mom a lot during these days as she was beginning to fail in health.  It was cousins night out for dinner and  we met Carol and Barb, Margaret and Waynette and Sherry at Jacks.  The restaurants along the Nautical Mile in St Clair Shores  have changed a lot during the years.  Jack's is now Brownies, which used to be a marina over but the restaurant there is now Watermark but it was a couple different names in between.  You need a scorecard to keep up.

2009 - "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was released in theaters in the U.S. It was the sixth movie in the series.  Surprised we didn't go to see this that day, big fans!

Contemporary history

Corazon Aquino, widow of the assassinated opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr., takes the Oath of Office on February 25, 1986
The return of democracy and government reforms beginning in 1986 were hampered by national debt, government corruption, coup attemptsdisasters, a persistent communist insurgency,[243] and a military conflict with Moro separatists.[244] During Corazon Aquino's administration, U.S. forces withdrew from the Philippines, due to the rejection of the U.S. Bases Extension Treaty,[245][246] and leading to the official transfer of Clark Air Base in November 1991 and Subic Bay to the government in December 1992.[247][248] The administration also faced a series of natural disasters, including the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in June 1991.[249][250] After introducing a constitution that limited presidents to a single term, Aquino did not stand for re-election.
Aquino was succeeded by Fidel V. Ramos, who won the Philippine presidential election held in May 1992. During this period the country's economic performance remained modest, with a 3.6%[251] percent GDP growth rate.[252] However, the political stability and economic improvements, such as the peace agreement with the Moro National Liberation Front in 1996,[253] were overshadowed by the onset of the 1997 Asian financial crisis.[254][255] On his Presidency the death penalty was revived in the light of the Rape-slay case of Eileen Sarmienta and Allan Gomez in 1993 and the first person to be executed was Leo Echegaray in 1999.[256]

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday Rick R
