Get Faith
Galatians chapter 3  "Why then the law?......But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe."  If you have read the old testament and especially Leviticus you know the weight of the law that was put on the Israelite s. Now I understand God's reasoning that these stiff necked people that fell back so many times, needed a strict set of rules and regulations to help them survive in this world.  I don't think they would have made it otherwise.  But as time went on God had a better plan (he always did) and Jesus came to save us from those laws.  Through Him we realize that He is All we need to survive.  You just need to believe.

On this day
2010  If you were wondering when it was as hot as it is now - 2010.  I was working and it was very slow and the back room where the scale was wasn't air conditioned.  The boss was not feeling well and consequently not in a good mood.  It was a Friday so I was happy to leave and get home.  I  had my friends son, Emilio living with me and he took off into Detroit to find a friend, I remember being relieved to put my feet up and relax with Mom.  Nicole was living in Chicago.  How has your life changed year to year?  Have you had multiple people living with you at different times or is it just me?  My door is always open, and looking for another room mate now.

1779 - American troops under General Anthony Wayne captured Stony Point, NYPretty sure the tents weren't air conditioned back then!

Escalante Philippines
The 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo is the second largest volcanic eruption of the 20th century.
Ramos' successor, Joseph Estrada assumed office in June 1998 and managed to regain the economy from −0.6% growth to 3.4% by 1999 amidst the 1997 Asian financial crisis.[258][259][260] The government had announced a war against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in March 2000 and neutralized the camps including the headquarters of the insurgents.[261][262] In the middle of ongoing conflict with the Abu Sayyaf,[263] accusations of alleged corruption, and a stalled impeachment process, Estrada's administration was overthrown by the 2001 EDSA Revolution and succeeded by his Vice PresidentGloria Macapagal-Arroyo on January 20, 2001.[264]
In Arroyo's 9-year administration, the economy experienced a phenomenal growth of 4-7% averaging at 5.33% from 2002 to 2007 with the completion of infrastructure projects like Line 2 in 2004[265] and managed to avoid the Great Recession.[266] By comparison, the Philippines has been growing an average of 3.6% from 1965 to 2001 or 3.5% (1986-2001) if we include only those years when democracy was already achievement in the Philippines on 1986. The improvement of the Philippine annual growth rate from her predecessors (since Marcos Regime to Estrada Administration) was around 1.7–1.87%. And this jumpstart from a sluggish economy for almost 5 decades that left it behind by its neighbors in the 1960s would prove to be the Philippines rise from being the sick man of Asia to become one of the "Tiger Cub Economy" for the next decade after her administration.[252] Nevertheless, it was tied with graft and political scandals like the Hello Garci scandal pertaining to the alleged manipulation of votes in the 2004 presidential elections.[267][268][269][270] On November 23, 2009, 34 journalists and several civilians were massacred in Maguindanao.[271][272]

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday Rick R!!!
