Get Faith
Acts chapter 17 "...So they took him and brought him to the Areopagus and asked him, "May we know what this new teaching is that your are presenting?"" I read further in this chapter and to explain "(All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.) "  Paul had a captive audience!!  So he explained to them that the real God is not created by man's hands but is the creator of all things - of the earth and everything on it.  He explained that a man from God had come to tell everyone that they should repent and believe and that they should believe Him because he had been raised from the dead.  He made many converts - Greeks, men and woman who followed him into the true faith.

On this day
1976  I just saw on Facebook that an old friend, Rich Lesko had a birthday today.  Well Rich has been gone for a few years now - but is remembered in my journal today.  All of our boat friends had converged on the back bay at Metro.  I had been with Pete for 3 or so years at this time and was amazed at the number of people he knew, well so did I now.   I took shish kebab (a lot of it) to the BBQ and cooked it.  I didn't do this often but it was a big hit and requested often after this.  Later we went to a surprise party for Rich for his birthday.  He was a person that not everyone was fond of - but it was a party and everyone liked a party.  Do you know someone like that?  Someone who irritates everyone, always shows up empty handed but everyone tolerates?

1849 - Georgetown University in Washington, DC, presented its first Doctor of Music Degree. It was given to Professor Henry Dielman.

Escalante Philippines
Philippine culture is a combination of Eastern and Western cultures. The Philippines exhibits aspects found in other Asian countries with a Malay[611]heritage, yet its culture also displays a significant number of Spanish and American influences. Traditional festivities known as barrio fiestas (district festivals) to commemorate the feast days of patron saints are common, these community celebrations are times for feasting, music, and dancing. The Ati-AtihanMoriones and Sinulog festivals are a couple of the most well-known.
Some traditions, however, are changing or gradually being forgotten due to modernization. The Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company has been lauded for preserving many of the various traditional folk dances found throughout the Philippines. They are famed for their iconic performances of Philippine dances such as the tinikling and singkil that both feature clashing bamboo poles.[612]

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday Chip and Rich (rip Rich) and Kristina G!!
