Get Faith
1 Corinthians chapter 9  "Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize?  Run in such a way that you may win it."  They are likening a foot race to life here, I think - with the message being our life in faith.  Nicole and 23 others are running a race, Ragnar to raise money for children to attend camp in the summer. So, although they are running the race, the people who get the scholarships are the winners.  Now that is Jesus' kind of race.

On this day
2004  I'm still amazed that when I was working and it was Saturday I would get up, take a long walk before enjoying a cup of coffee.  On this day after breakfast, Mom and I went to the bank and then to Pete and Frank's.  That was a market in Eastpointe that had fruits and veggies and a deli.  Just a small family place that we really liked.  Not enough of us liked it and it folded.  Then, when we got home I cleaned the house, fertilized the plants and cut the lawn.  Oh, what I would give for that energy back.  Oh and after dinner I dyed my hair - a chore unto its own.  It reminds me how important the exercise first thing in the morning is.

The Australian Shepherd, often known simply as the "Aussie", is a medium-sized breed of dog that was, despite its name, developed on ranchesin the United States during the 19th century.[3][4][5] There is disagreement regarding the exact history of the breed prior to its arrival in the United States, and thus no official consensus on the origin of its name or association with Australia.[6]
They are similar in appearance to the popular English Shepherd and Border Collie breeds, and research has found that Australian Shepherds and Border Collies are closely related to each other; both the Border Collie and Australian Shepherd are slightly more distantly related to other kinds of Collies and to Shetland Sheepdogs.[7]
Australian Shepherds rose in popularity with a boom in Western riding after World War II.[8] They became known to the general public through rodeoshorse shows, and Disney movies made for television.
For many years, Aussies have been valued by stockmen for their versatility and trainability. While they continue to work as stock dogs and compete in herding trials, they have earned recognition in other roles due to their trainability and eagerness to please and are highly regarded for their skills in obedience.[9] Like all working breeds, Aussies have considerable energy and drive and usually need a job to keep them occupied. They often excel at dog sports such as dog agility and frisbee and are also highly successful as search and rescue dogs, disaster dogs, detection dogsguide dogsservice dogs, and therapy dogs. They are considered the 17th-most popular dog breed in the United States.[10]
