Get Faith
Revelation chapter 7  "After this  I saw four  angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on earth or sea or against any tree."  Does this verse conger up scenes from a sci-fi movie you have seen?  Maybe a lot of what they have created in sci-fi they have taken from the Bible.  It is exciting to see in a movie created in Hollywood but it is a little terrifying to read in the Bible.  God has had this power for eternity, wouldn't you think?  I mean he flooded the earth didn't he?  He could end us at anytime, but has not.  He choose to save us from our sins (which is a lot) by the sacrifice of His Son so that we can live eternally with Him.  What a great God!

On this day
1984  Andy and Alice were married in February, Mark and I were married in April and I found out I was pregnant in September.  My brother Mark had moved up north with Mom in Gaylord but on this day they came down to spend Thanksgiving down here.  Mark and I planned on visiting both his parents and Andy's house for Thanksgiving but that isn't what happened.  When families expand you have to make decisions about where you will spend the holiday, right?  Many families take turns - your family this year, my family next.  We manage somehow to keep peace, well most of the time.  How do you handle the upcoming holidays?

1818 - Simon Bolivar formally declared Venezuela independent of Spain.  It seems logical that big countries like the USA, Brazil, Venezuela would separate from small ruling countries doesn't it?

Itagui Colombia

Etymology

The name "Colombia" is derived from the last name of the navigator Christopher Columbus (ItalianCristoforo ColomboSpanishCristóbal Colón). It was conceived by the Venezuelan revolutionary Francisco de Miranda as a reference to all the New World, but especially to those portions under Spanish law (by then from the Mississippi River to Patagonia). The name was later adopted by the Republic of Colombia of 1819, formed from the territories of the old Viceroyalty of New Granada (modern-day Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, and northwest Brazil).[18]
When Venezuela, Ecuador, and Cundinamarca came to exist as independent states, the former Department of Cundinamarca adopted the name "Republic of New Granada". New Granada officially changed its name in 1858 to the Granadine Confederation. In 1863 the name was again changed, this time to United States of Colombia, before finally adopting its present name – the Republic of Colombia – in 1886.[18]
To refer to this country, the Colombian government uses the terms Colombia and República de Colombia.

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday to Sandy C!!
