Had a house guest today and didn't want to scare him by waking up to me doing country line dancing at 7Am. Although he does refer to me as Dancing Nancy.

Matthew -9:18-26 Jesus brings a girl back to life and heals a sick woman. Jesus did not minister to men only, or wealthy only - it never mentions that he only cured those of his own culture. He did not shy away from "unclean" women or decide that a little girls life was expendable. You gotta love this guy.
On this day:
2005 - Mom and our neighbor, Al and I went to church for the day. My group had the bake sale portion of the Craft Show we used to have every year. (Pastor fondly called the crap show). shh. Anyway I kind of miss it - the camaraderie and the goodies and the busy ness, like a fall passage. Afterward we were all exhausted and went to Moy's Chinese restaurant for dinner.
1918 - U.S. Corporal Alvin C. York almost single-handedly killed 25 German soldiers and captured 132 in the Argonne Forest in France. York had originally tried to avoid being drafted as a conscientious objector. After this event he was promoted to sergeant and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. This is interesting for someone to not want to go - I guess he probably could have killed the other 132 also, but didn't. A true hero.
Parenting
I went out to dinner with some younger friends last night. They are gamers, married with out children. They are opening a game store soon in Berkley and making a life of what they love. After seeing Cameron and how entrenched he is with Minecraft, I wonder where this cyber gaming is taking this generation. I am trying to keep an open mind about the pros and cons. Can I get some help?
