November 8, 2015 Sunday #sleep#family#TheLodge#The Louvre#childrenpoliticians#PukkilaMuseum

Get Fit
A part of feeling good is certainly getting good sleep.  A good mattress is necessary to feeling rested. I have had my mattress about 15 years I think - when are you supposed to replace them, anyone?

Get Faith
Genesis 15:1-15 -This is the story of The Lord's Covenant with Abram.  It is where Abram is promised his own son with Sarah and descendants like the stars in the skies.  I assume acceptance that I am a descendant of Abram as do millions of others on this planet.  We are therefore brothers and sisters in this inheritance and should share in abundant life together - worshiping God.

On this day
1995 - Alice, Tom, Norma and Ty all stopped by on this evening.  There was a time in our life when they had all lived here with me at one time or another.  They were great times of fun, support and moving on with our lives.  Great memories.

1793 - The Louvre Museum, in Paris, opened to the public for the first time. Oh how I would love to go there today!

Parenting
I was at a chili cook off last night at friends.  You would taste the 6 different chili's and vote for the one you liked best.  One little girl was promoting her Dad's chili, she asked me which one I liked best and would I please vote for her dads.  I see a future in politics for this little girl.

Pukkila Manor is named after the Bock family who governed the estate from 1540s until 1720s. The numerous owners of Pukkila Manor were high-ranking officials from Turku. The manor’s current main building was built by Justice Court of Appeal, Christoffer Johan Rappe (1719-1776) who later became the county governor of the Province of Turku and Pori.

The main building of Pukkila Manor was built in 1762 and represents rococo style. Parts of the manor’s original rococo interior from Rappe’s time has remained; however, most of the rooms have been arranged in the neo-classical style of the owner Rehbinder who followed Rappe. The herb garden represents Rappe’s era, and it features herbs and plants which were typical to the 18th century. Pukkila Manor was opened to the public in 1970. The manor has been furnished as a late 18th century home for a family with many children.

The manor museum is open to the public Wed-Sun in summertime. In May, end of August and September groups by previous appointment.
