Psalm 8:1  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!"  Our father - creator of all that we see and can't see, cares for everything.  The stars in the sky, every light up there that you can see and the billions that you can't - he created.  His hand is on everything but more importantly His hand is on us.  He looks out for you and prepares your world and your next life.

On this day
1976   This day was still Labor Day weekend and Pete and I took Beaver (Hank) out on the boat with us to Basset - a place on the other side of Lake St Clair.  Snake and Maryann met us out there and they all skied.  I never accomplished that.  It was a different crowd for us than  we usually ran with - all the guys in their group had names like - well Beaver, Snake etc.  After that Pete and I went to dinner with Pat and Pam and then the show and saw Murder by Death.  Always busy!  Going to work for Pat today.

1781 - Los Angeles, CA, was founded by Spanish settlers. The original name was "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora La Reina de Los Angeles de Porciuncula," which translates as "The Town of the Queen of Angels." Wow!!!

Its capital, located along its southeastern coast, is Port Moresby. The western half of New Guinea forms the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua.

At the national level, after being ruled by three external powers since 1884, Papua New Guinea established its sovereignty in 1975. This followed nearly 60 years of Australian administration, which started during World War I. It became an independent Commonwealth realm in 1975 with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state and became a member of the Commonwealth of Nations in its own right.
