Get Faith
Jeremiah 17:7  "Blessed is the man (woman) who trusts in the Lord."  Trust is a huge issue.  I love people, all people and in talking to those who have issues, trust is one of the most common.  If you have been let down by people in your past it carries on to everyone you meet.  You start to question whether they are being honest with you.  While a bad case of this takes years of therapy to get over there is someone you can always trust.  Someone that loves you as far as east is from west, as highest mountains to deepest seas, from beginning to end and regardless of who or what you are.  Jesus came to earth to experience human life, to set an example of how we should trust and care for one another.  Are you a trustworthy person?  Can people rely on you to be and do what you say?  Look to Jesus for strength and advice - you can trust in the Lord.

I saw a site on Top Ten Healthiest Mushrooms and their benefits.  The portebello,  for example is an anti inflammatory.  Interested?  You have to like mushrooms first. (I do) and you need to know which ones not to eat.  Go to this site and take a look!

On this day
1997  You might have memories of this day.  It was my cousin Chuck's birthday, maybe 50 and Carol threw him a big bash party.  The only thing she didn't know was that it was going to be the playoff day for the Red Wings.  Great year!  I picked up my cousin Kathy, Aunt Margaret and Aunt Annie and we went out to the party together.  There were TV's set up in every corner and wall in the hall.  You couldn't even talk for all the yelling.  So exciting!  And they won the Stanley Cup that night.  So much for Chuck's birthday.  I took everyone home and then picked up Nicole to drive around and join the festivities out in the streets.  She would have been 12 and I'm sure watched the game.  We drove around celebrating, blowing the horn and yelling "Red Wings!" with everyone else.  We had a sun roof and Nicole was standing on the seat with her head out.  (I was driving slow)  It was so fun!!

The 1997 Stanley Cup Finals was the championship series of the National Hockey League's (NHL) 1996–97 season, and the culmination of the 1997 Stanley Cup playoffs. It was contested by the Detroit Red Wings and the Philadelphia Flyers. Detroit was in the Final for the second time in three years (the other coming in 1995, when they lost to the New Jersey Devils) while the Flyers were making their first appearance since losing in 1987 to the Edmonton Oilers. Detroit won the series in four games to win the Stanley Cup for the eighth time in franchise history and the first time since 1955; Philadelphia had not won since 1975. Detroit was the last team to win the Cup without having home ice advantage in the Finals and with fewer than 100 points earned during the regular season until 2009.

Thought I would share all of this!!

History[edit]

From classical antiquity to the Roman Empire[edit]

Cassander, founder of the city
The 4th-century AD Rotunda of Galerius, one of several Roman monuments in the city and a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site
The city was founded around 315 BC by the King Cassander of Macedon, on or near the site of the ancient town of Therma and 26 other local villages.[27] He named it after his wife Thessalonike,[28] a half-sister of Alexander the Great and princess of Macedonia as daughter of Philip II. Under the kingdom of Macedonia the city retained its own autonomy and parliament[29] and evolved to become the most important city in Macedonia.[28]
After the fall of the kingdom of Macedonia in 168 BC, in 148 BC Thessalonica was made the capital of the Roman province of Macedonia.[30] Thessalonica became a free city of the Roman Republic under Mark Antony in 41 BC.[28][31]It grew to be an important trade-hub located on the Via Egnatia,[32] the road connecting Dyrrhachium with Byzantium,[33] which facilitated trade between Thessaloniki and great centers of commerce such as Rome and Byzantium.[34] Thessaloniki also lay at the southern end of the main north-south route through the Balkans along the valleys of the Morava and Axios river valleys, thereby linking the Balkans with the rest of Greece.[35] The city later became the capital of one of the four Roman districts of Macedonia.[32] Later it became the capital of all the Greek provinces of the Roman Empire because of the city's importance in the Balkan peninsula.

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday Sara!
