Psalm 99:8  "Lord our God, you answered them: you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds."   What good parent doesn't reprimand their child to correct a bad choice in behavior.  We don't want our children to repeat the same mistakes, for their own good.  God your father is the same type of parent.  He loves you and wants you to make good choices.

On this day
2015 -  A lot went on this day.  I had Waynette here to take her to the doctor for the arm she had surgery on after a fall in December.  Monna had picked up Mom to take her to church for Hope Circle.  I had to take Nicole over to the dealership to drop off her car and after dinner dropped Waynette off at church.  I was supposed to have a dance class that night, but it was cancelled.  This was all just days before Mom went into the hospital and never returned home.  She went to rehab, a nursing home and finally to the assisted living place.  The busyness of the day reminds me of how so many years were like that.

1997 - President Milosevic of Serbia apparently surrendered to the will of his people, ordering his government to recognize opposition victories in local elections held in November 1996.

A few of us went to watch a movie last night. The Children of Aleppo.  It is a documentary on what is happening to the people of Syria as seen through the eyes of its children.  The children have learned to accept the bombing, the killing the constant threat of death and only hope that their entire family can die together.  It showed a young boy who is a true hero in his neighborhood because he is brave enough to stand up and lead large gatherings of people in the streets in rebellion against their enemies.  The reporter mentioned boys that had "disappeared" because they had done this same thing.
There was a family and one girl, at the showing last night, that were refugees from Syria and the girl was from Aleppo.  She had been a college student there.  The showing was well represented by Christian, Muslim and Jewish ministries from the Grosse Pointe area all looking for solutions to this huge problem in our world.  I read in the paper the other day that in excess of 10,000 unaccompanied refugee children have disappeared in this enormous exodus.  You can contact Lutheran Social Services to help with fostering, assisting families and financially if it is your choice.
