December 6, 2018 Thursday #Give God your burdens#Depression#Fraumunster Abbey

Get Faith
Psalm 68:19  "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens."  We often forget in our lives, as we struggle with illness, family difficulties, financial problems or loneliness - to take our burdens to God.  As the line from the psalm says - He daily bears our burdens.  Why do we ignore that one who in constantly holding us up, who always has our back.  Remember the song "What a Friend we have in Jesus"  and the line "all our sins and griefs to bear".  Take your troubles to Jesus today in prayer and enjoy a more peaceful life.

On this day
2006  My journal simply says - worked.  There are days missing in my journals that I probably did not want to remember, and probably forgot to take my problems to Jesus so I just wanted to forget the day.  Do you have those days?  Days that seem like nothing good can possibly happen and you might as well stay in bed.  Many use medical help to get through these days, doctors prescribe happy pills to those who can't pull themselves up from the depression.  Unfortunately there are "street" doctors selling drugs to people that find no other solutions for their lives.  Depression and mental issues are not to be taken lightly, they are serious problems in our societies that need addressing.  God is one of the healing measures, the best in my mind, to help recapturing your life.  Get help.

1735 - In London, French surgeon Claudius Amyand performed the first successful appendectomy at St. George's Hospital. The patient was an 11-year old boy that had swallowed a pin.

Zurich Switzerland
In the 5th century, the Germanic Alemanni tribe settled in the Swiss Plateau. The Roman castle remained standing until the 7th century. A Carolingian castle, built on the site of the Roman castle by the grandson of CharlemagneLouis the German, is mentioned in 835 (in castro Turicino iuxta fluvium Lindemaci). Louis also founded the Fraumünster abbey in 853 for his daughter Hildegard. He endowed the Benedictine convent with the lands of Zürich, Uri, and the Albis forest, and granted the convent immunity, placing it under his direct authority. In 1045, King Henry III granted the convent the right to hold markets, collect tolls, and mint coins, and thus effectively made the abbess the ruler of the city.[22]  Fraumunster Abbey.
