2 Chronicles 7:14-15 "If my people, who ware called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal there land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place." This is a reading from the Old Testament, that came to Solomon in a dream, where God spoke to him after the grand opening of the beautiful temple he had built for God. It is from the Old Testament when the Israelites were still under the law of God. We still are, but have been given forgiveness by the grace of God. It is prophetic in many ways because of the constant prayer raised to God in saving so many of His countries that cry out in prayer for His help. Like today. TY God.
On this day
2007 Ten years ago the dinner group of cousins and friends, Waynette, Barb, Kay, Kathy and I went down to the Polish Cafe for dinner. Today, Barb is laid up with a broken foot, Kay is in Cleveland waiting the all clear to see if she can go home to Fort Meyers after Irma hit yesterday. Kathy is still here in Detroit and I am sure wondering if her home in Palm Beach Gardens is still intact for the same reason. Waynette and I will be attending a church event regarding the stain glass windows in our sanctuary. Things change and some things stay the same, I still love the Polish Cafe!
1297 - Scotsman William Wallace defeated the English forces of Sir Hugh de Cressingham at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Our troubled past and present. I have stood on the Stirling Bridge in Scotland - another relic of our warring history!
Fresno California
Fictional residents of the town were portrayed in a 1986 comedic miniseries titled "Fresno", featuring Carol Burnett, Dabney Coleman, Teri Garr and Charles Grodin, along with numerous other celebrities. The mini series was presented as a parody of the prime time soap operas popular in the 1980s. This might be an interesting watch, especially with those named!
