March 1, 2015 Sunday

Ephesians chapter 4; 11-13  God has given us all gifts to share and build up one another so that our faith is strong.  We have to teach others about our loving God and His great gift to us in Jesus the Christ.

On this day;
1991  I went to the doctor, said I still had an ear infection, then I picked up Nicole from the boat store took her to my moms, cleaned the house, picked up my mother in law, Aaron and Nicole and went to the Macomb Mall - I think the barbershop group was singing there at the little boat show they used to have.  I guess taking care of myself wasn't a priority, but then it isn't a lot of the time.

1912 - Captain Albert Berry made the first parachute jump from a moving airplane. Someone had to go first.

Parenting - Moms more often, but sometimes Dads, have to forge on when there are kids in the house.  I never liked to miss activities either, so that added to the problem, but very often, there are things you just HAVE to do, like work, take care of kids etc.  We need to do as much on regular basis to care for ourselves and not get worn down.  The message now is drink a lot of water and get sufficient sleep.  Another piece of advise is don't drink alcohol, it messes with your sleep and digestive system.  We don't want to hear that though.

Come and Get These Memories - of The Sixties: excerpt

     On my birthday we had a nice dinner with a birthday cake.  Mom always baked great cakes, pies and cookies.  She was a Betty Crocker generation girl. It was a Wednesday so not a big deal over being 13, but then Mom never made a big deal over birthdays other than baking a cake.  At least this year I didn’t have to be embarrassed to death by opening a gift and finding bras and a garter belt and nylons.  Oh and a sanitary belt, even though it had all come in very handy in the past year.  This year there was a big box, gift wrapped in the dining room that I had no clue to what it was.  There were smaller boxes too, so probably one from all members of the family, Mom and Dad, Adam and Martin.  The suspense was killing me.
Juneau Alaska

The City and Borough of Juneau (/ˈn/; Tlingit: Dzánti K'ihéeni [ˈtsántʰì kʼìˈhíːnì]) is the capital city of Alaska. It is a unified municipality located on the Gastineau Channel in the Alaskan panhandle, and is the second largest city in the United States by area. It has been the capital of Alaska since 1906, when the government of the then-District of Alaska was moved from Sitka as dictated by the U.S. Congress in 1900. The municipality unified on July 1, 1970, when the city of Juneau merged with the city of Douglas and the surrounding Greater Juneau Borough to form the current home rule municipality.[2]
The area of Juneau is larger than that of Rhode Island and Delaware individually and almost as large as the two states combined. Downtown Juneau

As of the 2010 census, the City and Borough had a population of 31,275. In July 2013, the population estimate from the United States Census Bureau was 32,660, making it the second most populous city in Alaska.[3] Between the months of May and September, the daily population of the city can increase by roughly 6,000 people from visiting cruise ships. However, Fairbanks is the second-largest metropolitan area in the state, with more than 97,000 residents. The city is rather unusual among U.S. capitals in that there are no roads connecting Juneau to the rest of Alaska or the rest of North America (though ferry service is available for cars). The absence of a road network is due to the extremely rugged terrain surrounding the city. This in turn makes Juneau a de-facto island city in terms of transportation, since all goods coming in and out of it has to go by plane or boat, in spite of it being located on the Alaskan mainland. Wow Big Place lots to see here!

Enjoy the Day!  Make it Memorable!  Happy Birthday Roxanne!
