July 21, 2018 Saturday#slow#boring/#rainyday!!

Get Faith
John 3:17  "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."   What if God were looking for a few people that were worth saving, who believed in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, that the world would not end.  This has happened before in history.  Do you think we are safe?  Do you care?

On this day
2008  I had my whole drive way repoured when Nicole was 2, so 1987.  On this day I had half (all I could afford) poured again.  Like 696 it has a crack already.  I feel like the old driveways lasted forever.  What has changed?

1831 - Belgium became independent as Leopold I was proclaimed King of the Belgians.

Udon Thani Thailand

he country has always been called Mueang Thai by its citizens. By outsiders prior to 1949, it was usually known by the exonym Siam (Thaiสยาม RTGSSayampronounced [sajǎːm], also spelled SiemSyâm, or Syâma).[citation needed] The word Siam may have originated from Palisuvaṇṇabhūmi (“land of gold”) or Sanskrit श्याम (śyāma, “dark”) or Mon ရာမည(rhmañña, “stranger”). The names Shan and A-hom seem to be variants of the same word. The word Śyâma is possibly not its origin, but a learned and artificial distortion.[clarification needed][20] Another theory is the name derives from Chinese: "Ayutthaya emerged as a dominant centre in the late fourteenth century. The Chinese called this region Xian, which the Portuguese converted into Siam." (Baker and Phongpaichit, A History of Thailand, 8) A further possibility is that Mon-speaking peoples migrating south called themselves 'syem' as do the autochthonous Mon-Khmer-speaking inhabitants of the Malay Peninsula.[citation needed]
SPPM Mongkut Rex SiamensiumKing Mongkut's signature
The signature of King Mongkut (r. 1851–1868) reads SPPM (Somdet Phra Poramenthra Maha) Mongkut King of the Siamese, giving the name "Siam" official status until 24 June 1939 when it was changed to Thailand.[21] Thailand was renamed to Siam from 1946 to 1948, after which it again reverted to Thailand.

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!
