July 24, 2018 Tuesday#Holy#Staystrong#Neighbors#MachuPicchu#Explore!

Get Faith
1 Peter 1:16 "Because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy".  God made us holy through His Son Jesus Christ.  We are forgiven, we are saved and we are holy.  Not because of who we are but because of what He wants us to be.  We must be holy to be accepted into heaven and we are if we believe in Jesus.  Believe and be saved.

Get Fit
Keeping our bodies fit to do His work as long as we can is important, for here and for there.  Today I used those resistant bands and did about 40 squats, worked out the legs and the arms.  I'm going to do VBS next week so I better get my strength and stamina on.

On this day
2011  Was a Sunday and after church Mom and I were home all day.  I worked out in the yard awhile  but then my neighbor Ty  came over and we went to drinking beer.  My refrigerator worked then so it was pretty easy to grab another one without losing our place in our ongoing conversation.  We had the best talks and solved the world's problems in the shade of the garage in the driveway, watching the neighbors go by.  I miss Ty and Shannon a lot.  They only moved a couple miles away, but it is never the same.

On July 24, 1911, American archeologist Hiram Bingham gets his first look at Machu Picchu, an ancient Inca settlement in Peru that is now one of the world’s top tourist destinations.Tucked away in the rocky countryside northwest of Cuzco, Machu Picchu is believed to have been a summer retreat for Inca leaders, whose civilization was virtually wiped out by Spanish invaders in the 16th century. For hundreds of years afterwards, its existence was a secret known only to the peasants living in the region. That all changed in the summer of 1911, when Bingham arrived with a small team of explorers to search for the famous “lost” cities of the Incas.  wow a hundred years ago!
Udon Thani Thailand
Thailand comprises several distinct geographic regions, partly corresponding to the provincial groups. The north of the country is the mountainous area of the Thai highlands, with the highest point being Doi Inthanon in the Thanon Thong Chai Range at 2,565 metres (8,415 ft) above sea level. The northeast, Isan, consists of the Khorat Plateau, bordered to the east by the Mekong River. The centre of the country is dominated by the predominantly flat Chao Phraya river valley, which runs into the Gulf of Thailand.
Southern Thailand consists of the narrow Kra Isthmus that widens into the Malay Peninsula. Politically, there are six geographical regions which differ from the others in population, basic resources, natural features, and level of social and economic development. The diversity of the regions is the most pronounced attribute of Thailand's physical setting.
Another beautiful country to explore!

Enjoy the day!  Make it memorable!  Happy Birthday! Kristina and Chip!
